# Open Experiment

On the top left, there are three menus: File, Tools and Help. For more detailed information about the menu items, please see [Main Menu](/codex/mav/user-instructions/main-menu.md).

To open an experiment click, "File" and "Open experiment."

Click the "Select experiment..." button. A folder selection dialog will request an experiment folder. Please select the experiment root folder to open.

The latest processing and segmentation runs will be populated by default. To choose different processing and segmentation runs, please click on the drop-down menus and select the appropriate entry among those listed.

You will be prompted to select the Segmentation folder if it exists.
